But here’s my ‘cut to the chase’ advice anyway: climbers need sleeves on their jackets to keep their arm muscles warm. Any US Team outerwear uniforms must include sleeves; and if they don’t USAC needs to start buying them for those engaged in international competition. It simply costs too much for athletes to travel for this sport to allow a cost-saving choice by a sponsor to occur at the expense of an athlete’s performance.
In short, vests are a stupid choice for competitive climber pre-comp outerwear, even if they’re free.
